A note on a fixed point theorem of Berinde on weak contractions

The aim of this note is to show that the quasi-contractions and weak contractions are independent; also it is shown that a map that satisfies condition (B) (newly introduced) has a unique fixed point in complete metric spaces. This note answers the open problems posed by Berinde.
