Abstract.

This study focuses on the numerical approximation of axisymmetric Brinkman flow in three-dimensional exterior domains using the infinite element method, as an alternative to the commonly employed boundary element methods for exterior problems. We present numerical experiments for both the Stokes and Brinkman problems, demonstrating the convergence of the infinite element method across various parameter settings. The results indicate that this approach is well-suited for solving problems in large unbounded domains.
